Out now: "Moods (Album)" [plus Tracker files]

Happy release Friday guys! I'm super excited that my album "Moods" got released on Shady Ridge Records today! The album is now available on Bandcamp as digital and physical release, many streaming sites and also on my website.

"Moods“ was originally developed as a live performance; so most of the featured tracks are 1-take recordings that have been polished and mixed in Ableton Live 10 and then externally mastered. It also features a couple of pure Polyend Tracker and Elektron Digitakt tracks as well.

My workflow was fairly simple. Except the Tracker songs, I recorded each instrument as a separate stem on a SD card with my genius audio mixer (Tascam Model 12) - Digitakt (1 stem, no single audio outputs!), Digitone, Peak, external FX, you name it. In a second step, I cleaned the records a bit in Ableton, mixed it and added some software plugins here and there to get it shiny and spiced up. Then the track was finally mastered by my engineer Dan Fur.

The Tracker tracks where a bit easier to make, I simply exported the arrangements as single stems and recorded the external instruments with the Tascam again. Then I mixed everything, same workflow as above. It's a nice feature to get separated stems straight on the machine, it makes it super simple to mix and master these tracks.

There's also one track that's Digitakt only. That one was really just recorded, there was totally no post-processing except the following master chain.
