Hey guys, I hope you're all doing well and I welcome all new customers who purchased one of my video courses. Thanks a lot :) I have some updates that I want to share with you. Video Course Access Some guys noted that it's hard to find the course contents, so I made some changes. That's why the courses are now linked in the main menu for direct access when you're logged into my site. When you're not logged in or you don't have a valid membership, you will see the same page, but only 20 sec long teasers of each video. There's also a new page with links to the courses in the "My Account" menu. Download of videos I got some requests that it would be helpful for some of you if they could download the videos, so here we go - the video player offers now a download option for each video. Site performance I also got a note that my site seems to freeze on some customer systems, the video course pages in particular. After I had a long call with my hoster support team, we couldn't validate this issue. I have also asked a few customers to test it on their computers, but haven't received any negative feedback as well. If you guys have problems like this, please contact me by mail or use the chat button on my website. New Board Last but not least, I added a new board for the customers of the Polyend Tracker course upon request. Thanks to everyone who submitted some feedback, I really appreciate your support! Mat

Hey guys! The first month of 2022 is already history - time goes by so fast! I just wanted to tell you that I uploaded some fresh content to the Digitakt Video Course. This new video gives you some inspiration of how to utilize the (now) 2 Digitakt LFOs for sculpting interesting and evolving sounds. You will find it on the class page in the video player, lecture 17. Thanks to everyone who signed up to the class so far and supported my work and let me know if you have specific wishes for future updates. Mat

Hey guys, I've been sick for the last 2 weeks - thanks to everyone who sended me recovery wishes! Luckily I'm over it and I did another stream on YouTube yesterday night. It was finally about the Digitakt again, namely about the MIDI Loopback feature. There have recently been some questions about a tutorial video of mine, as the method I explain in it no longer works since the update to Digitakt 1.30. In this stream I explain how you can still use the feature. By the way, each future stream will cover a specific topic or a device! You can either check the scheduled programmes on YouTube or, even easier, the calendar on my website: www.59perlen.com/calendar. I scheduled a number of interesting broadcasts for January and February! You will also notice that in addition to the regular production streams on Wednesdays, there will be a new programme on Sunday evenings in which I will welcome interesting guests! The first confirmations come from Gabriel De La Mora (Mexico), Atlas Castle (Denmark) and Joshua Wittman, owner of Shady Ridge Records, Minnesota. I hope to see some of you arround :) Stay save Mat

Hey guys, I have some news for class students and site subscribers among you. 1. New "Resources & Downloads" section in the forum I've created a new section in the forum, where additional resources and other downloads are bundled now. Students of the class and / or website subscribers can access this section after login and download all items for free. At the moment, these are my sample packs so far, but I plan to expand this area with music downloads and more sample packs. 2. New regular mailing After I published the last sample pack in my store, I had to realize that some students bought the pack (which I really apprechiate!), although they can download it for free in the forum. To communicate membership updates in the future a bit better, you will soon receive a special newsletter summarizing new content, so you won't miss anything or spend money for free items. This mailing will come once a month and inform you about new video uploads, samplepacks and a short forum digest. Cheers Mat

My setup, I worked on it during the past 2 days. It‘s routed, cabled and ready for Jamuary 2022. Will you be posting too? I think this will be a very funny Challenge and a great opportunity to exercise on different fields (and to collect track drafts!). I‘m doing the PVC challenge with one topic per day - not sure if I can follow each but I will try :) https://www.instagram.com/petitevictorycollective/p/CYCPsrfofCv/?utm_medium=copy_link Happy new year guys <3

Hey guys, I think it's not too late :) so I want to send you a warm and hearty "Merry Christmas" from Switzerland! I don't know about you, but I canceled my travel plans to Germany due to the Corona situation in Europe, so I have plenty of time to think about 2022 and the goals I want to achieve. One of these goals is that I want to dive deeper into field recording adventures! With my Tascam DR-07X, this is not really possible as I can't use with with a professional mic (no connector) and it is just too noisy for this purpose. So I gifted myself a huge upgrade of my gear with a Zoom H5 recorder :) I really can't wait to use this little power horse - it will also replace my Roland Mixer Go for better streaming on Instagram or YouTube. I purchased it together with a Rode NGT4plus shotgun mic which will let me take much higher quality recordings than I can do with the Tascam. Oh yeah I'm also working on my website as well, little typo and color tweaks here and there to get the visual appearance straight forwarded and prepared for my upcoming activities :D What are your goals and plans for 2022? Lemme know, I'm always curious :D Stay save guys, keep creating and have a good holiday season! Mat

Hey guys! I hope you are all doing well! Just before the end of the year, I have a little gift for you - I added new exclusive content to the Digitakt Online Course! This lesson is the first of several videos on the topic of "timestretching" and explains the basic technique with which you can change the speed of loops on the Digitakt and thus also create great textures and deep sound design. You will find it on the class page as lecture 16. I'm sure you gonna love this little Xmas gift - and there’s more content coming soon :) Thanks to everyone who signed up to the class so far and supported my work - I wish you guys a safe and quite Christmas season and a healthy good new year - see you during my live sessions and on the social Channels :) Mat

Hey my friends, I have uploaded a new samplepack titled “Dust”. It’s free as usual, you can download it here: https://www.59perlen.com/product-page/dust This Samplepack was created exclusively for my 1 hour live performance "Dust" (2021). The original idea behind these mostly looped samples was to create them fast! Many of these loops have been created using the random algorithms included in the Reason DAW modules, help players, synths and samplers. You get 77 loops and 33 One-Shot samples in total, some of these in different key variations and the percussion loops have been rendered with separate stems. I hope you like them and if you make tracks let me know so I can link them to the pack :) Cheers Mat

Hello everyone :) After I added the first course extension "Samples III" in May, it has become a bit quiet around the class. That was mainly because I had a creative burnout - I didn't tackle a musical instrument or maintain my website for some months. Rightly some of you asked me when it will continue and when I will provide new lessons. Of course I want to keep my promise ;D and today I can finally announce that I have uploaded a new lesson for you. It's about "Basslines", and the next video about "Timestretching" is also finished and will be available in the next few weeks. On the subject of "New Sound Design Course" I want to tell you that for technical reasons I have decided NOT to offer a separate course for this subject. However, the new lessons are all about sound and design, but will be added as extensions to the existing course. And in the end, it doesn't matter how the videos are sorted after all. I hope you can learn something again with the new video and of course I'm looking forward to your feedback! Cheers Matthias

Hello my sweet Digitakters, how are you guys? I'm back from my longer-than-expected summer break and I thought to give you a quick notice :D I hope you're all enjoying the summer and you're still in the vibe of music making! Talking about music, I have a lot of news to share with you. First is the promised update of the Digitakt course. I have to admit, I wanted to have this ready by end of August but I completely shut down during the past 2 months and I didn't touch my entire gear for weeks. So, I need to ask you for a little patience! Some of the new lessons are already recorded and I might upload these in a first step. Second, I am changing my YouTube setup. Previously, I went live twice a month and uploaded a new full jam video every Saturday. And exactly this setup caused a little burnout in me! While the live sessions are not really time consuming, the constant pressure to finish a weekly track and produce a full length video killed my whole creativity and led to a lower overall quality of my music. And that's why I decided to go up with the frequency of the live sessions and go down with the track releases! Starting August 25, I will go live every Wednesday from 8-9pm CET, while the tracks will be published occasionally when I really can take enough time and when I think a performance is ready. Last but not least, I have a sweet little "Welcome Back" release in the pipes! You can read all about "Home" here, the EP drops August 20. I'm so happy to be back guys and while I can't tell you all the news (yes, that was just a part), I'm pretty excited about all. Happy weekend! Mat

Hi guys! The past few months have been a busy time full of interesting moments and events that I have been privileged to share with you. Thanks so much - for spending time with me during the online sessions, reading my newsletters and listening to my music! It was such a pleasure. However, I feel that a moment has come to pause a little and recharge my batteries. Therefore, I am taking a summer break until 15 August. I won't be producing any new jams, doing any live sessions or publishing any blog articles or Social media posts during this time. If possible, I will withdraw from social media in general, but that's difficult for me :D I will therefore comment here and there. If you've purchased a "Digitakt class" Membership or one of my Coaching packages, I will of course be available for session bookings, answering questions and giving you feedbacks. And while we're on the subject, I can also tell you right away that after my time off, it will continue with very cool news! As already announced earlier, I am working on a 2nd Digitakt course, which will be published by the end of August. The course is specifically focussed on sound design and includes the features of the Digitakt 1.30 update of Digitakt as well. I will also use the next weeks to learn to master my new piece of gear, the Octatrack. I started working on something entirely new and I'll have a super big anncouncement later in September for you guys. Last but not least, the YT Live Sessions will continue! Save the date: the first one after the break is on 18 August at usual 8pm CET. I'm looking forward to seeing you all again and wish you a great summertime! Mat

Yo my Digitakters, hope you're alle doing well! Some time ago, I asked you guys if you'd like to have exclusive Sessions as a member of the Digitakt Class. Only a few subscribers answered to my questionaire - actually, only 3 specifically said they'd apprechiate exclusive sessions. That's why I finally decided to keep the sessions open as they currently are and don't offer exclusive sessions until the audience got a little bigger, and put my time into the development of additional content instead. But in return, I made some changes to the free sessions. They all have a focus now, so you can see in advance if it will be something you want to learn more about or not. Topics for the upcoming streams are Q&A, Track breakdowns, Track creation and Octatrack sessions. Find the complete schedule here. Want me to work on you tracks? I also plan to work on your tracks here and there, if you're interested! As you might know, Elektron recently updated their transfer app - you can now export a complete project into one single file, send it by mail, and import it on another Elektron machine. That allows me to import your projects and work on it during one of my sessions. If you're interested in this kind of "Roast my Track" topic, please let me know in the comments and I will set this up for a future stream. Could be cool thing! I believe that by leaving the live sessions open, you will get much more inputs from folks who didn't subscribe to my class - there are lots of experienced Digitakters in the frequent audience who solved a lot of problems. I hope this is in your interest guys! Let me know what you think and keep creating! Mat

Yo guys, during my last (and uber cool!) YouTube Live session the question came up how to organize samples on the Digitakt. I received a great tip on this topic from Christof, which I would like to pass on to you. It's about a tool called "Elk-Herd". The program is an online tool with which you can super easy organize, save and delete projects, samples and sounds on your Digitakt. There's a threat about in the Elektron forums on reddit: https://www.elektronauts.com/t/elk-herd-3-0/121861 And here's the direct link to the tool: https://electric.kitchen/crunch/elk-herd/ I'll probably talk about it in the upcoming live session (mark it: 4/28/2021 8pm CET!). Don't miss it :D Mat (Image source: https://www.elektronauts.com/t/elk-herd-3-0/121861/44)

Hello my dear Digitakt-friends, I hope you are all well! My new soundpack "Citylights" got a pretty sweet community-response and I took this as an opportunity to set up a new playlist on my YouTube account. This list contains tracks made with the samples. It's small but nice :D and it continues to grow. If you made a track with "Citylights" (and also the first pack "Stretched Reality"), you can post the link here and I will add your videos to the list. I hope you continue to have fun with the samples! Have a nice weekend Matthias Here's the link again: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZYzDOL3ckgrSOhU3al5KGWz5nUjvJHZA
